How does TeenSafe Control work?
TeenSafe Control uses Mobile Device Management (MDM) Protocol, similar to the way corporations secure devices used on their networks in order to protect their network from Internet threats. An MDM certificate is installed on your teen's iPhone and paired with the TeenSafe Control App on your iPhone, giving you the power to control it remotely. TeenSafe Control's proprietary method of incorporating MDM makes it difficult for your teenager to disable or remove it. In cases where they find a way, we will alert you via email.
What exactly can I do with TeenSafe Control?
TeenSafe Control enables parents to remotely control their teen's phone. Here are some examples of how parents find it useful:
- Pause your teen's phone during dinner, bedtime and to stop texting while driving
- Block apps like SnapChat, in-app purchases and access to the app store
- Schedule restrictions on phone and app usage around your family's routine (homework, dinner, bedtime)- coming in 2017

Does my teen need to know that I'm using TeenSafe?
Every parent's situation is unique and only a parent can decide whether to inform their teen of their intent to use the www.TeenSafe.com monitoring service and TeenSafe Monitor. Many parents choose to tell their teen that they're using TeenSafe, and disclosure to teens is recommended by TeenSafe. In California, or where the interpretation of privacy laws with respect to parental monitoring is not settled, TeenSafe is exploring ways in which the monitoring service can provide notice to teens.
When using TeenSafe Control, your teen's phone will state "This phone is being managed by TeenSafe."
Does TeenSafe work with all mobile phones?
TeenSafe's monitoring service works with iPhone and Android smartphones. It also works with iPads, the iPod touch and Android pre-paid phones. TeenSafe does not currently work with Blackberries or Windows phones.
TeenSafe Control currently works when both parent and child have iPhones. An Android version is due in 2017.
Will I be able to see images or video sent via text?
No. It is TeenSafe's policy to not display images nor videos sent via text from their phone.
How is TeenSafe different?
Your www.TeenSafe.com login works without requiring your child’s iPhone to be "jailbroken" nor Android phones to be "Rooted". TeenSafe does not alter an iPhone in anyway and does not violate the phone’s warranty. TeenSafe offers parents a single and secure method by which they can access and monitor their teen's digital lives.
Can I add more than one teen?
Yes. You can add an unlimited number of teens for no additional cost.
